Choices Youth Shelter
About the Shelter
CHOICES Youth Shelter offers a place for youth, ages 16 to 24 years of age, who need emergency housing or a place to stay for longer periods of time. CHOICES provide a safe environment where youth can focus on getting their lives back on track.
Services Provided at the Shelter
• Immediate shelter, meals, shower and laundry facilities
• Time and a safe place to think and plan
• Staff and volunteers to provide support youth needs
• Referrals to outside organizations
Responsibilities of Residents
• Complete respect for everyone in the shelter, neighbourhood and community
• Upkeep of their room and own laundry
• Sharing in the housework
• Attend school, work or be actively looking for employment or a return to school
• Keep drugs, alcohol and violence out of the shelter
• Respect the curfews
• Full acceptance of house rules
